Dr. med. Bernhard Riebl
Studied piano chamber music (concert subject) at the Vienna Academy of Music, graduating in 1983. Numerous concerts in piano chamber music ensembles and as accompanist, radio and television recordings. Training in breathing, voice and movement work with Hilde Langer-Rühl. Further training with Ilse Middendorf, Gerda Alexander (eutony), Feldenkrais ® work, Muhar/Coblenzer, among others.
Studied medicine in Vienna, doctorate in 1985, specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation since 1996, specializing in manual medicine and osteopathy. Senior physician at the Institute for PMR at the Rudolfstiftung Hospital in Vienna and head of the outpatient clinic for musicians' disorders.
Since 1986 active at what is now the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (music physiology lectures, individual work in the areas of breathing, voice, movement and breathing exercises for wind players; practical training in music medicine).
Numerous seminars (breathing, voice and movement training, musicians' medicine) and lectures (musicians' medicine) in Austria, Germany and Italy.

Personal focus and teaching goals
Developing a confident playing and breathing technique with the means of breathing, voice and movement work: feeling comfortable on the instrument, relaxed and at the same time intensive playing, reducing “tension” and discomfort; improving posture and presence in body language and performance; practicing economically, better stress management.
Imparting basic knowledge of music physiology with the aim of direct practicability in daily practicing and performing.Sharpening the awareness of possible sources of error and obstacles in the development of personal instrumental playing technique and breathing technique. Awareness and control of posture and use of movement.Understanding the causes of musician's illnesses, basic rules of treatment and prevention.
