  • VR Stage Fright Training
    Virtual Reality performance training in collaboration with the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG), the Department of Musicology (SysMuWi) at the University of Vienna, and with the kind support of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Academy (OA).

  • TFOYO: Fine-Tuning the Future – Addressing the Needs of Young Orchestral Musicians
    A collaborative research project by the Motion-Emotion Lab at the mdw and the SiNES Lab (Musicology Department, University of Vienna), supported by the ÖGfMM and the Erasmus+ Program.

  • YourSmile – A Music Workshop in the Children’s Hospital
    In cooperation with the Institute for Music Pedagogical Research, Music Didactics, and Elementary Music-Making (IMP) at the mdw, the Neuro-Oncology Unit at the AKH Vienna Children’s Hospital, and the Comprehensive Center for Pediatrics (CCP) at the Medical University of Vienna (MUW).

  • ERGO-MUSIC: Collection of Ergonomic Aids and Physiological Tools for Musicians
    In cooperation with the Austrian Society for Music and Medicine (ÖGfMM).

About the Lab

The Motion-Emotion Lab at the Department of Music Physiology focuses on interdisciplinary research into all aspects of music performance and the interaction between humans and instruments. Core areas include the physiological, psychological, medical, and acoustic dimensions of music-making.
