Together with Music: Family Intergenerational Music Therapy Work in the UK

Over the last 20 years Charlotte has worked within a variety of settings including schools, nurseries, children centres and NHS hospitals across South London in delivering a variety of Music/Health/Education related services. Charlotte currently works as a Music Therapist and is the Founder and co-Director of Intergenerational Music Making.
IMM is a Music Therapy organisation bringing together the old and young to tackle isolation and social exclusion whilst improving the mental health and wellbeing of both generations through unique music therapy projects.
Is this workshop Charlotte shall present and discuss the findings from a recent Intergenerational Music Therapy project which she recently completed working with families and their children at their local care home. The workshop shall look at the challenges and possibilities that arose from this practice whilst demonstrating a variety of different musical activities and songs that one could deliver in a setting such as this.
