Mata Granata is a rapper from Vienna who has been making his own hip-hop/trap since 2020 and sings in BKS (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian).

He was born in Zadar (Croatia), where he studied sociology and Russian language. His path later took him to Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Klagenfurt. He has lived in Vienna permanently since 2012.

The leitmotifs in his hip-hop are class exploitation and class struggles, as well as feminist and queer struggles. The themes in his tracks vary from the sad fate of wage labourers and police violence at the borders of the Schengen area to the right to abortion and the political exclusion of migrants living in Vienna. He draws inspiration for his music primarily from experiences of being active in various anarchist, trade-union, feminist and queer initiatives.
