Tessa Balser-Schuhmann (she/her) is a guest researcher in the research project Women Musicians from Syria: Performance, Networks, Belonging/s after Migration (FWF, V 706-G29). Balser-Schuhmann focuses in her research on music, migration, and social class. Currently, she deals with the concert series Voices of Vienna (Wiener Stimmen), a cooperation between the NGO Brunnenpassage and the Musikverein Vienna, to analyse musical diversity in spaces reserved for Western art music. In addition, she is responsible for data collection, archiving, and conference organization within the project.
Tessa Balser-Schuhmann studied musicology (BA) at Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main from 2014 to 2018. Since 2018, she is a master student in musicology at the University of Vienna. She is currently writing her master thesis on music, voice, and social class(es).
