Michael Schneider (*1990) comes from Salzburg, where he began his musical career at the Mozarteum with piano and voice and later continued his academic training at the mdw Vienna. There he completed IGP piano as well as orchestral and choral conducting and graduated with distinction in all studies.

He has distinguished himself not only as an outstanding choral conductor but also as a successful orchestral conductor. Concerts under his baton have been broadcast by Ö1 and ORF III.

Michael Schneider has conducted concerts with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO), the Gdansk Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra, the L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra, the Salzburg Baroque Orchestra, the Bachchor Salzburg and the Vienna Singverein. In 2017, Michael Schneider was invited by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra to rehearse the choruses for Beethoven's 9th Symphony on their China tour as assistant to Philippe Jordan.

He is the Artistic Director of the Ensemble Interpunkt, which he founded and with which he has achieved great success in a very short time, including performances at the Wien Modern Festival and the Vienna Musikverein under the direction of Ivor Bolton and the Tonkünstler, the Collegium Vocale Solisten Ensemble and director of the Chorus Viennensis, a male choir of former members of the Vienna Boys' Choir.

Since 2020, Michael Schneider has been teaching at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
