KARL ÖSTERREICHER COMPETITION OF CONDUCTING

 

For the very first time this year, the Karl Österreicher Award for advanced students of conducting was announced at the Institute of Conducting of the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The competition took place in Vienna in June 2024.

The award for this competition was the conducting of the Nordböhmische Philharmonie Teplice on November 2nd, 2024 in the Smetana Hall in Prague. Piotr Jaworksi conducted Hoffmeister's viola concerto in D major, Brahm's double concerto for violin, cello and orchestra, and Dvořák's Symphony no.9.
