Students of orchestral conducting receive excellent professional training with extensive practical experience at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Anchored in the Viennese music-making tradition and networked with top international artists, the institute offers the best opportunities for artistic development. Essential elements of the programme include regular work with the in-house Pro-arte Orchestra, in-depth experience in opera conducting as well as collaboration with famous conductors in the context of master classes and cooperative projects with renowned cultural institutions. The highlight of the academic year is the public diploma examinations in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein.
