Individual Programmes of Study at the mdw
Subjects from various diploma, bachelor’s degree, and/or master’s degree programmes can be combined to create one’s own individual bachelor's degree, or master’s degree programme.
One’s application for admission to one’s individual programme of study must be submitted to that University at which the focal point of the proposed programme of study is to be.
The central element in applying to pursue such a programme of study is a curriculum proposal that contains, at minimum, the following:
1. Content of the Programme of Study
2. Qualification Profile (learning outcomes)
3. Admission prerequisites including entrance examination
4. German Skills
(only for students whose first language is not German)
5. Programme duration and phases
6. Programme structure and content
7. Course types
8. Examination procedures
9. Academic degree
10. Appendix: Course descriptions
Since the (in part collaborative) development and review process necessary for the approval of such programmes of study is quite elaborate, please assume that there will be a lead time of at least one semester before you are able to commence your studies.
We’ll be happy to advise you early on in the process at the Office of the Director of Studies.
