ACHIEVEMENT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Achievement-based scholarships serve to recognise outstanding academic achievement as defined in § 57 of Austria’s Student Support Act (StudFG).

The 2023 application period is
3 Oct. 2023 – 13 Oct. 2023
for achievement-based scholarships based on the results of examinations taken between 1 Oct. 2022 and 30 Sept. 2023.

Applications (including all required documents) must be sent by 13 Oct. 2023 at the latest via E-mail (studiendirektorin@mdw.ac.at, subject: Leistungsstipendien) or via physical mail (postmark date: 13 Oct. 2023)

 

 

ADVANCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Advancement scholarships serve to support the academic and/or artistic output of degree students as defined in § 63 of Austria’s Student Support Act (StudFG).

Application deadline: 29 Apr. 2024

Please fill out the application at right and also take note of the eligibility and selection criteria.

This type of support is available for elaborate artistic or academic final papers/theses/projects, film and (music) theatre projects, composing projects, and similar. These works must not have already been completed when one applies. When applying for support for cooperative projects, all participants who submit an application must apply separately and include mention of the other participants. As a matter of principle, project expenses can only be submitted for approval by individuals who fulfil the application criteria.

 


 

WHO MAY RECIEVE A SCHOLARSHIP?

(The following information applies to achievement and advancement scholarships)

Austrians as well as foreign and stateless individuals entitled to equal treatment in accordance with § 4 StudFG may apply for achievement and advancement scholarships.

Citizens of EEA countries, Swiss citizens, and citizens of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland are treated the same as Austrian students in light of the principle of equality defined in § 4 StudFG and need not provide additional documentation in this regard.

When applying for an achievement or advancement scholarship, we need from you—even if you are an Austrian citizen—a current copy of your file (certificate of registration) from the Central Register of Residence (ZMR)!

All applicants will be notified of their application’s approval or rejection by E-mail (at their @students.mdw.ac.at addresses).

Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered!
