More than 90 students of the Fritz Kreisler Institute and the Leonard Bernstein Institute have faced institute-internal selection auditions in May 2021.
The best four soloists will now present their skills in the grand concert. The digitally connected audience can expect
a varied evening with solo concerts for violin, flute and saxophone from Mozart to Rodrigo, accompanied by the Webern Sinfonietta, an orchestra of students from both institutes, conducted by Vladimir Kiradijev.
ATTENTION: Due to the nationwide lock down, no on-site audience is permitted. However, the event will be streamed and the audience can participate digitally in the festive concert!

to the Karl Scheit Archive
Karl Scheit collected everything that had to do with the guitar throughout his life: Instruments, sheet music, tablatures, books, magazines, sound recordings, pictures and the most diverse documents. This resulted in one of the most important collections of its kind in the world.
Today, the majority of the collection is held by the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, which is viewed by people from all over the world. Since 2015, Prof. Dr. Stefan Hackl has been officially responsible for the archival management of the Scheit Archive, which has since been digitized. This database was opened on September 24, 2021.

The most outstanding students of the Fritz Kreisler Institute for concert strings, guitar and harp and the Leonard Bernstein Institute for concert wind and percussion instruments present various instrument groups.

Selection audition
Students who intend to apply for a scholarship are required to attend the audition without exception. Otherwise, the institute cannot make a recommendation to the scholarship foundations.

thanks to the initiative of Univ.Prof. Lothar Strauß, a sponsoring of the worldwide

The 1st place was shared by Katharina Auer and Maxim Tzekov. They each received a violin case sponsored by Dimitri Musafia and Univ.Prof, Lothar Strauß.
Moeka Ueno won the 3rd place and received a prize money.
Dear Colleagues,
Dear former teachers and friends of the Fritz Kreisler Institute,
due to the current situation, we have to assume that severe restrictions are still to be expected on December 17, 2021. Therefore, we have decided to transmit the planned ceremony via zoom to everyone's home, starting at 18.00 from the Joseph Haydn Hall.
The ceremonial presentation of the golden medal of merit to o.Univ.Prof. Wolfgang Klos and the farewell to our highly esteemed institute secretary Karin Mühlhauser will be musically accompanied by students of our institute.
