The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna offers a separate German test (for B1 and B2) every semester. Registration for the German test is only possible for the semester in which the German certificate must also be provided (e.g. Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance must provide proof of B1 for further registration for the 3rd semester - so registration for the German test is only possible for the 3rd semester).
The level and time of the German certificate for your study can be found in the Rectorate's Language Competence Directive.
Please note that the German test is not an internationally recognised language examination and only serves as proof of German language proficiency at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. You will therefore not receive a grade and no certificates can be issued for external purposes. Participation in the German test is only possible after passing the entrance examination!
The types of tasks are based on those of the international ÖSD and Goethe-Institute examinations. The model examinations (see www.osd.at and www.goethe.de) are therefore also recommended as preparation for this examination. The ÖSD examination centre and the Goethe-Institute maintain a list of authorised international institutions and language schools that offer examination dates for obtaining the language diploma. It is recommended that you take one of these diplomas in your home country if possible.
