On February 2nd, the audience of the Metallenen Saal at the Wiener Musikverein witnessed an extraordinary performance: the newly formed Young Masters Piano Trio, consisting of Mariam Abouzahra on violin, Konrád Varga on cello, and Sofya Erukhimova on piano, captivated the audience with their impressive performance.
Performing Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestücke Op. 88 and Dmitrij Shostakovich’s Trio No. 1, rehearsed under the direction of Sibila Konstantinova, the trio immediately engaged the audience with the emotional depth of the pieces and the virtuosity of the already highly acclaimed talents, who seamlessly merged into a wonderful and naturally cohesive ensemble.
We are thrilled for our young musicians to have the opportunity to collaborate with Jeunesse Wien – such professional performances in the magnificent and significant setting of the Musikverein are both a great motivation and an honor. We believe that with their years of dedication, impressive determination, and, above all, their touching sincerity and devotion in preparing for such performances, these young talents truly deserve this recognition.
Indeed, the audience of the evening seemed to share this sentiment, remaining utterly silent as they followed the trio’s subtlest emotions and colors.
We hope that the audience will now follow the young trio and remember the names of Mariam, Konrád, and Sofya.
We extend our gratitude to Jeunesse for the valuable collaboration and wish the Young Masters Piano Trio and each individual young artist continued joy and success in their endeavors!
