An exciting weekend in November was marked by the passion and talent of young musicians during the 6th edition of the mdw Youth Masterclasses. During this special event, the mdw opened its doors to 90 talented 14- to 19-year-old winners of the Bundeswettbewerb Prima la Musica. In our wind instrument and percussion classes, they had the unique opportunity to experience university life and receive instruction from 35 experienced teachers at the mdw in various areas such as body music, stage presence, embouchure, and music theory.
Participants also had the opportunity to play in a wind orchestra and a recorder ensemble, where they developed not only their musical skills but also their teamwork and mental strength. Under the organizational leadership of Sandra Stini and the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching, the masterclasses provided an inspiring platform for exchange and learning.
The crowning finale on Sunday afternoon showed many satisfied faces among the young talents. We thank all involved for their contribution to the success of this event and look forward to welcoming some of these promising talents back to the mdw in the future
