Higher Education Didactics
The Department of University Didactics deals with the cross-sectional issue of teaching and learning culture and is located at the interface between the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs, the institutes and other departments at the mdw, such as Quality Management and Human Resources Development/Centre for Further Education. It is dedicated to promoting the discourse on teaching and learning, offers exchange formats and support services for teaching staff and contributes to strategic teaching development.

Buddy Programm
The Buddy Programme is a special offer for first-semester students and is designed to help them get started with their studies while also making it easier for them to settle in Vienna, for example by helping them overcome everyday hurdles and providing orientation in leisure and cultural life.

Study Law and Programme Development
The organisational unit ‘Study Law and Student Development’ covers the following areas of responsibility:

Studies Center
The Study Centre provides applicants and students with information on all matters relating to their studies.
The most important tasks of this organisational unit are:
- Supporting applicants with questions about the admission examinations
- Organisation and partial cooperation in the processing of admission examinations
- Admission to degree programmes and university courses or re-registration during the admission period
- Registration for the central artistic subjects
- Counselling students on the further course of their studies
- Counselling on all questions relating to tuition fees
- Acceptance of registration for Bachelor's, Master's and diploma examinations
- Checking the requirements for taking an exam in front of a board
- Supervision of all scholarships financed by the university

Orchestra Office and Instrument Management
This organisational unit is responsible for all orchestral courses in instrumental studies, for which the following orchestras are available:

The instrument administration department, which is also located here, provides students with access to (special) instruments on loan.
