Choral Bridges - Off to new horizons...

An initiative of the Webern Chamber Choir to build connections with music universities around the world

As part of its project "Choral Bridges" the Webern Chamber Choir keeps setting out for new horizons, exploring different choir traditions and building connections with ensembles of music universities around the world.

In the past years the Webern Chamber Choir was able to get to know ensembles, professors and students of the Sibelius Academy in Helsiniki, the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, the University of Illinois, USA, the ESMUC in Barcelona and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.

During rehearsals and master classes at the various universities, the Webern Chamber Choir is able to gain valuable insights into the choral work and the training of choir conducters in other countries. Many international friendships were built during collaborative concerts and the after-show celebrations.

These friendships could be deepend during return visits. The Webern Chamber Choir was delighted to welcome the choirs from Munich, Illinois and Weimar as well as the professor of ESMUC to Vienna. We hope to continue to strengthen these connections.
