Dialogue Questionnaire (Dia-QNR)

A questionnaire supporting the reflection and the assessment of intra- and interpersonal experiences in dyadic music therapy improvisation

The development of the Dia-QNR results from the Dia-SQN de-briefing questionnaire (Dialogue Short Questionnaire), which was created and validated in a feasibility study “Dialog im Fokus”. The Dia-SQN captured subjective and intersubjective experiences in dyadic improvisations in a scientific setting.

The Dia-QNR represents a revised and on various levels expanded version of the Dia-SQN, as follows:

  • Application: The Dia-QNR is still filled out as a de-briefing questionnaire by the therapist and the client; however, the number and content of the questions have been revised.
  • Versions: The Dia-QNR for the therapist (Dia-QNR-T) and the patient (Dia-QNR-P) is available in a short version (incl. improvisation approx. 30 min.) and in a long version (incl. improvisation approx. 60-90 min.). Furthermore, there is the Dia-QNR-O, a version for retrospective observation and assessment for external observers, and the Dia-QNR-R, a version for possible retrospective reflection of the participating music therapist.
  • Setting: The Dia-QNR is designed for both, scientific as well as clinical practice.

Currently, the Dia-QNR is being tested in various settings.
