New in the management


When you are entrusted with the management of an organisational unit by the Rectorate, the management of the organisational unit is transferred to you and you are appointed as a manager.

Within a few weeks of being entrusted with the management of an organisational unit, the following meetings will be arranged with you by the respective specialist departments:

Interview in the Personnel Management (PM) department: Interview based on the "Personnel Management Guideline": tasks and authority of the manager; tasks and responsibilities of the deputy; personnel assigned to the organisational unit; tasks of the personnel; labour law issues

Interview in the Budget and Controlling department (BC): Budget responsibility of the manager: mdw financial management; for budget allocation, utilisation, overview

Discussion with Personnel Development - Centre for Continuing Education (ZfW): advice on coaching for new managers and on management training: team development; establishing communication structures and routines; health-promoting leadership

Accompanying coaching for new managers: The management role is associated with many expectations and many opportunities for organisation. In support coaching for new managers, expectations and opportunities, challenges and issues relating to the new role are reflected on and dealt with over three appointments over a period of up to one and a half years with a selected coach from the coaching pool of the Personnel Development - Centre for Continuing Education.
