Mobbing

For several years now, we’ve been paying deliberate attention to the causes, effects, and consequences of “mobbing” (the bullying of an individual by a group), for which reason we joined forces with the University administration to develop measures that enable us to act preventatively as well as intervene quickly and in a targeted manner should the need arise.

Dealing with conflicts openly makes it possible for those who bear responsibility for personnel-related matters (e.g. superiors, HR Management staff, Works Council members) to combat the risk of escalation. For this reason, we at the Human Resources Development Office – Center for Further Education (ZfW) offer courses on the topic of communication and conversation techniques every year.

It must be emphasised, however, that not every interpersonal conflict qualifies as mobbing. If you are under the impression that a situation in which you are personally involved fits the definition of mobbing, please do get in touch with us for an informational conversation and/or advising.

The mdw’s administration is clear in its championing of respectful and esteeming human interaction. And it is essential that this aspiration be upheld, which is why we pay attention to conflicts and take them seriously.
