Research

In their interaction and interlinkage with the development and exploration of the arts, scholarship and scientific research represent an essential component of the mdw's institutional self-understanding.

The mdw pursues its mission as an arts university and research institution by means of basic research in the humanities and natural sciences as well as through projects involving research of an applied and/or artistic nature. This also provides the foundation for the mdw's research-guided approach to teaching.

Crucial elements here are a broad and diverse range of substantive and methodical approaches, their transdisciplinary interlinkage, and a both active and critical way of dealing with processes of change both social and political going on at and beyond the university.

Research Funding is actively involved in the process of implementing the Human Resource Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).
