L'opera seria (Mus.Hs.17775)

ComposerGassmann, Florian Leopold
Date of performance1769-xx-xx Premiere
Dating of manuscript1772
NotesEven though the opera was premiered in 1769, paper and copyists appearing in this score suggest that it was written a few years later in the early 1770ies. It shares no less than eight papers (P1, P2, P3, P5, P7, P9, P38, P71) with Gassmann_18076 (1771), being produced in the workshop of WK71F, too. The combination of the rulings 10/183B and 10/184N first appears in a series of Viennese opera scores from 1772 (Piccinni_17828, Salieri_17834, Piccinni_17825, Gazzaniga_1058, Salieri_17841, Salieri_10075), among others, on the papers P3 and P38. Gassmann_17775 belongs to this group and was likely written in 1772 as well.
