Composer | Hasse, Johann Adolf |
Date of performance | 1762-02-12 Revival |
Dating of manuscript | 1762 |
Notes | Hasse's "Alcide al bivio" had its premiere in Vienna in 1760 and was revived in 1762. We have three scores from the Imperial collection; Zechmeister (Die Wiener Theater 1971, p. 472) dates them to 1760. The present score was written in the Ziss workshop. In manuscripts from 1762 they used P66, P59 and P71 among a few other papers. The combination of P59 and P71 suggests that Hasse_18663 was copied in the same year and in connection with the revival of Hasse's work. |
