Composer | Hasse, Johann Adolf |
Date of performance | – |
Dating of manuscript | 1767 |
Notes | The score originates from Therese Ziss’s workshop, where P79 was used very frequently in 1767. Scores exclusively written on P79 involving WK71P were created in either 1767 (Pasqua_17817, Gassmann_18085, Piccinni_17826, Piccinni_30.3.2–3) or at the latest in the early days of 1768 (Gassmann_18086 with its premiere on January 5, 1768). Together with a group of other opera scores, this manuscript from the collection of archduchess Maria Carolina was probably written in the run-up of her wedding and move to Naples in May 1768. The year “1770” given on the title page by the librarian Francesco Rondinella (19th century) should probably indicate the date when the score was written; if so, it is not correct. |
