The mdw is celebrating its bicentennial not only in Vienna, but also together with some of its renowned partner universities as well as with mdw graduates around the world. This year has so far seen bicentennial-related concerts at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York City (together with students form the Julliard School), Tokyo University of the Arts, Seoul National University Concert Hall, and the Gregoriano Profano Museum in Rome.
A special highlight was a concert put on by the mdw club Korea in the nearly sold-out Seoul Art Recital Hall. mdw club Korea is the first international chapter of the mdw club (the mdw’s alumni organisation) and is intended to ease networking among mdw graduates abroad while also contributing to the mdw’s overall international network (more information at www.mdw.ac.at/mdwclub). In December, a further concert is being planned by the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow.
