In late January of this year, conductor Marin Alsop was made an honorary member of our institution. With this act, the mdw recognised Alsop’s internationally outstanding achievements as an artist as well as her work to promote women conductors and support the musical education of children and adolescents.
On 24 May 2019, honorary membership in the mdw was conferred on Friedrich Cerha in acknowledgement of his unwavering commitment to contemporary music and its appreciation as well as in recognition of his internationally lauded output as a composer.
On 22 May 2018, pianist Paul Badura-Skoda was awarded honorary membership in the mdw.
With this act, the university expressed its appreciation for Zadek’s achievements both as a singer and as a singing teacher and supporter of young talents.
