All publications by mdwPress appear – without delay – in at least one freely accessible electronic edition. All electronic publication formats are generally freely accessible and licensed under a Creative Commons license (CC license). In any case, the license allows others to share and reuse the main body of the work at least for non-commercial purposes of preservation, text and data mining, education, research, and distribution in the original language. The work can be reused with an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship, of the derivative use, and the publication by mdwPress. The most open CC license, CC BY, is recommended to all authors and editors in a consultation. For printed books, a restriction to non-commercial re-use (CC BY-NC) can be useful. mdwPress makes use of a uniform author agreement with a flexible CC license.
mdwPress complies to all principles for Open Access publications as requested by research funding agencies, including FWF, in Plan S.
