Veronica BÖHM
Historical Violin Instruments (Supplementary Subject)
Veronica Böhm embodies early music that comes alive—in her teaching, she combines historically informed performance practice with a clear focus on musical rhetoric and personal expressiveness, thereby bringing the historical vocabulary of early music back to life and making it immediately accessible through her own artistic voice.
In addition to her teaching activities, she performs internationally as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. As a specialist in historical performance practice, she performs regularly with leading early music ensembles, including Concentus Musicus Wien and Il Pomo d’Oro. She has also collaborated with the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, la festa musicale, Collegium 1704, the Wiener Akademie Orchestra, and Concerto Stella Matutina, among others.
Concert tours have taken her to nearly 50 countries on 4 continents and to the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Musikverein in Vienna, La Scala in Milan, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
She is a regular guest at renowned festivals and has participated in numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, Erato, Warner Classics, Sony, and Pentatone.
Veronica Böhm studied violin at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Joseph Sabaini and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Thomas Fheodoroff. She subsequently earned her second master’s degree in Baroque violin and historical performance practice under Hiro Kurosaki and Eva Saladin.
She also received significant artistic inspiration as a scholarship recipient at the Balthasar Neumann Academy and through masterclasses with, among others, Leila Schayegh, Mechthild Karkow, Gottfried von der Goltz, Thomas Hengelbrock, Daniel Sepec, Christophe Coin, and Chouchane Siranossian.
