Tzu-Yu YANG
Tzu-Yu Yang studied piano, fortepiano and harpsichord in Hanover, Salzburg and Vienna. Specialising in historical keyboard instruments, she regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe and Taiwan.
She was a finalist in the 2019 Musica Antiqua Festival Bruges International Fortepiano Competition and received an Honourable Mention. Her recording of Beethoven’s 3rd and 4th Piano Concertos in the arrangement by Vincenz Lachner for piano and string ensemble, together with Thibault Back de Surany and The Van Swietens, was released by IBS Classical España in June 2024. The recording on period instruments presents alternative solo passages by Beethoven that provide insights into his improvisational creative process.
In addition to her concert activities, Tzu-Yu Yang is also involved in music education. She has taught at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum, the Musikum Salzburg, and Le Conservatoire Wien and regularly gives workshops and masterclasses in Taiwan.
