Michael MEIXNER (Inst. 6)
Early Music Ear Training
Michael Meixner was born in 1962 and showed a strong affinity for music from an early age. Therefore he received a rich musical education (violin, piano, organ) and continued his studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), majoring in composition (Neumann, Urbanner), church music (u.a. Planyavsky) and conducting.
For almost 30 years he has been teaching music theory, ear training, analysis, notation and improvisation, among others, at the same institution with a strong focus on the theory and practice of Early Music. His main interest lies in the practical application which leads to an in-depth occupation with historically informed pedagogy in these subjects.
