A Festival for Marianna Martines

In June 2025, a festival will spotlight the Viennese composer Marianna Martines (1744–1812): A concert, a staged performance of her oratorio Isacco, figura del Redentore at the Vienna Chamber Opera, as well as lectures and discussions will honor the work and creative scope of the composer, harpsichordist, and singer.
The festival is made possible through the collaboration of two institutes at the mdw — the Institute for Musicology and Performance Studies and the Institute for Early Music — with the Theater an der Wien and the Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Österreich (DTÖ).
