Michael MEIXNER (Inst. 6)
Michael Meixner was born in 1962 and from an early age showed a strong affinity for music. Therefore he received a rich musical education (violin, piano, organ) and continued his studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) in the disciplines composition (Neumann, Urbanner), church music (u.a. Planyavsky) and conducting.
He has been teaching the subjects music theory, ear training, analysis, notation and improvisation, among others, with a strong focus on the theory and practice of Early Music at mdw for almost 30 years. His main interest lies in the practical application which leads to an in-depth occupation with historically informed pedagogy in the aforementioned subjects.
