The Career Center of the ,dw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna supports students and young graduates (till 5 years after their graduation) as they make the transition into professional life.

mdw Artists

The online platform mdw Artists presents outstanding young mdw artists who can be booked through the Career Center. They include award-winners as well as future stars promoted by the talent portal Ö1 Talentebörse.

Concerts and Performances

The Career Center offers numerous performance opportunities for students and young graduates. Cooperative arrangements with external organisers make it possible for our students to gather real-world professional experience. The young artists are advised and coached by the Career Center in accordance with their individual needs.

We are currently cooperating with the Vienna Musikverein on the joint concert series High Class I and the series Young.Musicians organised by the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde.

Additionally, the Career Center arranges public and private performances for young, talented musicians and can also arrange performers for festive occasions and gala events. For more information, please contact: careercenter@mdw.ac.at

The Webern Kammerphilharmonie embodies a further initiative to promote young artists. This mdw orchestra was founded in 2015 to facilitate young orchestral musicians’ transition into professional life.

Workshops

The Career Center’s workshops are tailored to the special requirements of the various types of careers in the arts and are adapted on a continual basis to keep up with a constantly changing cultural scene. The Center’s offerings are open to students and graduates up to five years after graduation, and participation is free of charge.

The Career Center develops and hosts courses in cooperation with mdw`s Centre for Further Education, the Institute for Cultural Management and Gender Studies and MICA.
