“Am frisch geschnittnen Wanderstab, wenn ich in der Frühe so durch Wälder ziehe”: Thus begins Eduard Mörike’s poem Fußreise, set to music by Hugo Wolf. This and other songs on the themes of hiking, travelling, farewells and being on the road are interpreted by students of the mdw. In addition to well-known works such as Gustav Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, the programme also includes less frequently heard musical and literary treasures such as songs by Henri Duparc and Hans Pfitzner.
A cooperation with the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna.
