A musical bow to the king of Italian opera! You can listen to arrangements of "La Traviata", "Rigoletto" and "Falstaff" for chamber music ensemble, some of which were arranged especially for this occasion. The newly founded Early Music Department at the mdw presents itself for the first time under its director Stefan Gottfried in the Glass Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. At the centre of the evening is the Zimmermanns' Café in Leipzig, a musical focal point of the time and inseparably linked with the name J.S. Bach.

Students and young graduates from the mdw
The soprano Miriam Kutrowatz, Simeon Goshev at the piano and the clarinet quartet "The Clartists": they are all students or have studied at the mdw until recently and are already on the way to a promising career.
Works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Richard Strauss, Igor Stravinsky among others, can be heard.
