In 2025, 6 high-quality artist portraits mdw Artist Portraits will be produced by the Career Center with advanced mdw students.  A selection procedure is planned to determine the artists. The artistic disciplines rotate every year.

For the year 2025, artists from the following disciplines will be selected:
Classical vocals (soprano), oboe, trombone, harpsichord, vocals (popular music)

The new interpretation competition of IGNM Austria in cooperation with the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

How does your vision sound? Apply for the Sounding Visions interpretation competition with an innovative concert format that guarantees exciting listening experiences: No compulsory pieces, no minimum number of works, focus on compositions and sound art of the 20th and 21st century.

Who can take part?

• The Austria-wide competition is aimed at students of all nationalities who are currently enrolled at an Austrian music university, private university or private college or graduates who graduated no more than 2 years ago at the time of application.
• All instruments and vocals, solo or in ensembles / groups with a maximum of 5 participants are eligible. Participants from other art forms are possible in the spirit of transdisciplinarity.

Prizes

• Cash prizes totaling 5500 euros will be awarded by the IGNM, and the winners will also receive additional performance opportunities.
