Balthasar NOVA - Academy program for music students

Balthasar NOVA, the first 1.5-year orchestra academy for historical instrumental playing. The program was initiated by the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra, is supported by the European Union and starts in March 2025. It is aimed at musicians based in Europe who are at the end of their studies or have already completed them. Auditions are open for string and woodwind instruments, trumpet, horn and timpani/percussion.

Balthasar NOVA offers young professional musicians from all over Europe the opportunity to develop in the independent scene in a comprehensive, sustainable and future-oriented way. The program (duration: 03/2025 to 08/2026) includes fairly paid activities such as projects, courses, workshops, individual lessons, NOVA SALONS and many other innovative and forward-looking formats.

Grafenegg Academy 2025 - Call for musicians 

The Grafenegg Academy offers talented young musicians the opportunity to learn and perform in an inspiring environment with demanding personalities from the world of classical music. Since its foundation in 2021, the Grafenegg Academy has gained an international reputation and invites top applicants every summer to form a renowned orchestra. Through intensive rehearsals, workshops and a variety of concert formats, the Grafenegg Academy promotes artistic development and reflects the different career paths of modern musicians.

What does the program include?

The Grafenegg Academy offers its members a new way of further education. A special focus of the Grafenegg Academy 2025 will be the topic of “Sound”. This topic will be explored experimentally and creatively in workshops and MusicLabs.
