mdw Artist Portraits 2026
In 2026, 6 high-quality artist portraits mdw Artist Portraits will be produced by the Career Center with advanced mdw students. A selection procedure is planned to determine the artists. The artistic disciplines rotate every year.
For the year 2025, artists from the following disciplines will be selected:
- Violin
- Clarinet
- Trumpet
- Voice (Classical) – Bass or Bass-Baritone
- Organ

Submission and call dates of the Austrian Music Fund 2025
Production funding
The activities of the Austrian Music Fund focus on promoting and thus enabling high-quality music productions by musicians living in Austria in all musical genres. This can be an album or a title-related release, whereby the release of at least three titles within a release period of 12 months is considered an eligible project. In addition, a video grant and a basic marketing grant of € 3,000 each can be awarded.

CALL 59: Submissions possible from July 1, 2025, submission deadline August 13, 2025 (completion of online submission), announcement of jury decision September 15, 2025
CALL 60: Submissions possible from October 1, 2025, submission deadline November 12, 2025 (closing of online submission), announcement of jury decision December 15, 2025

Tour support
The existing national tour support will be expanded to include funding for international tours and the maximum funding amount per tour will be increased from 10,000 to 20,000 euros. Funding will be provided for live tours that serve to promote productions previously supported by the Musikfonds.

Impulse funding
The impulse funding enables short-term and low-threshold funding for special live activities abroad. Funding is awarded independently of previous production funding. Funding is available for showcases, individual events, festival appearances, presentations, support appearances and short tours if they serve to promote Austrian music internationally and open up new target markets and are expected to have a lasting effect.
