An incomplete invoice is a hassle for any client or organizer. However, follow-up questions also mean an annoying time-consuming task for the artists. The more complete the information on the invoice, the faster the agreed fee will reach the artist. So, investing a little time in the invoice pays off.
 

Components of an Invoice

  • Name of the artist

  • Address of the artist

    • If there are multiple addresses: tax address

    • If applicable: VAT number (Value Added Tax Identification Number)

  • Contact (phone, email) of the artist

  • Name and address of the client

    • Pay attention to the exact company name (e.g., GmbH, etc.)

  • Date of invoice issue

  • Sequential, unique invoice number

  • Delivery or service date (e.g., concert date) or a suitable time frame of the service

  • Explanation of what the invoice is for (What was the service provided?)

  • Costs for the service provided (possibly including VAT), the VAT amount (or if VAT exemption applies, a note stating the service is exempt from tax)

  • Bank details of the artist (IBAN and BIC)

  • Name and signature of the artist at the end of the invoice
