Self-management for young artists
My art and me
Presenting my potential, my skills, my knowledge, my personality, my individuality, the brand ME. Each of us has to do it, some see it as a necessary evil, others try to avoid it or work around it, but there is no way around it: if you want to get a job, a performance or an engagement, you have to deal with the issues of visibility and presence, whether analogue or digital, individually and sustainably. In other words, you don't just want to stand out and ‘be interesting’ in the short term or take advantage of the moment, you need to stay in people's minds, i.e. stay present. Those who are authentic will also be perceived as such. Text design is an important topic here - regardless of whether it's about creating the curriculum, developing your own programmes or programme booklets (texts) or writing a ‘simple’ letter to organisers or agencies.
In this workshop, we will discuss how to formulate these texts in an appealing and interesting way, when it makes sense to proactively contact an artist/event agency and we will share our own experiences - using examples. On the second date there will be the opportunity for individual discussions. Registration for this takes place during the course.
Stories from the diary (sewing box) of a concert organiser round off the ‘learning curve’.
Objectives
- Text design when creating a biography
- Developing programmes and creating programme booklet texts
- Developing material for agencies
- Cover letter
