Rhetoric training for artists 
With exercises and individual feedback

 

In this workshop, participants learn how to act rhetorically confidently in fee discussions and conduct negotiations with self-assurance. They will learn how to deal with killer arguments, how to refute killer phrases and politically incorrect comments as well as how to react to inappropriate and harsh tones backstage. Professional comments in response to compliments and positive criticism are also trained. The first part is followed by interactive lessons including individual training, role-playing and small group exercises, which serve to individually develop one's own confidence in appearance and rhetoric - including feedback and ideas for further development from the speakers.
 

Objectives

  • Be able to prepare negotiations and contract meetings correctly
  • Being able to negotiate fees confidently
  • Being able to quickly recognise killer phrases
  • Being able to react to killer arguments
  • Being able to return unfair rhetoric from the duel to the dialogue
  • Be able to use harmonising techniques in conversation
  • Be able to deal with incorrect and harsh remarks in a quick-witted manner
  • Be able to accept praise and compliments professionally

Course lecturer Daniela Ettl


Daniela Ettl is the founder of the private institute The Speech. As a trainer and coach, she supports aspiring artists in promoting and developing their own personalities for their careers, better positioning their music careers and moving confidently and rhetorically through the most diverse art scenes. Her own biography includes not only numerous lectures and teaching activities at universities, but also a recording contract (EMI), many collaborations with musicians and a role in the Austrian Composers working group
